Aurora CAD Training and Development is proud to be providing its CAD training material to OHIO STATE University for their spring classes. They are using the newly released Generative Shape Design and Basic Methods material that has been developed by ACADTD.
GENERATIVE SHAPE DESIGN IS AVAILABLE
Aurora CAD Training and Development is proud to announce that the new book titled Fundamentals of Generative Shape Design is now available. Generative Shape design is the main surfacing tool available in CATIA V5. This workbench contains the basic tools to create contour shapes used to define sheet metal and stamped designs. Using a variety of surface creation functions, the examples in this book stress best-practice methods to design parts for change. Parts are designed ranging from simple shapes of volume control knobs to complex automobile support brackets and exhaust routings are presented using sweep, multi-section, and advanced filleting techniques. Attention is placed on Specification Tree development and organization for stable modeling.
All example exercises are put through a series of modifications to test the stability of the method and functionality used. Many assignments are also included for the student to practice as proof of lessons learned.

NX7 BASIC METHODS AND APPLICATIONS
Click and Pick training has been the standard for years and proven to be ineffective. This book approaches the basics of Siemens NX7-7.5 with industry proven methods and techniques to design parts for change and manufacturing. It is believed that new users should learn tools using function and application training that emphasizes good design habits from the start. The methodology presented in this manual is intended to provide direction and guidance for creating robust, parametrically driven parts.
This course provides exercises and assignments enabling the beginning student to experience the interaction of commonly used basic design tools available in NX7-7.5. Students are guided through seven step-by-step exercises focusing on Part Design, Sketcher, Drafting, and Assembly Design modules. Students are also provided with six part drawings for 3D model creation using methods, techniques, and functionality required in the exercises. Completed Product and NX Parts are available as verification of lessons learned. This book is good for all versions of NX7.

ACADTD presents at SAE SHOW at Cobo Hall
ACADTD the largest supplier of CAD training material on the web presented to SAE International the Aurora Method™ at the SAE Congress held a Cobo Hall in Detroit MI on April 14th. Doug Hall the CEO presented this method of creating training material and delivering it was developed to make it easier for students and adults to learn CAD. This method takes into consideration everyone learns different. This method can also be applied to other training programs.

ACADTD uses an upgraded approach, versus its competitors in this industry, in HOW we teach the user how to use the NX software. Aurora’s training process focuses on teaching the user how & why the various “operators” work the way they do. Once the specific operator is understood, the user can apply the use of that operator to any design scenario. Other developers teach in a “recipe style” or “step-by-step” approach that has proven to not be as effective as our “Operator” approach. Aurora focuses on how the operator actually works.
